Atma Brother #1 For all the bashing ESPN takes from the blogosphere (some deserved, some undeserved) at least on the hoops side they've been really generous with links, etc for over a year now. (YaySports! ball exception noted).
90% of sports bloggers like to diss ESPN and complain about not getting links, but guess what? 90% of sports blogs suck. Thank god for the other 10% which are just as good if not better than the old school media outlets. (I'm not trying to say that if you diss ESPN you're automatically a poor blog of course, e.g. Deadspin which is solid)
And by the way this particular example of ESPN linking to the blogosphere is somewhat misleading. The NBA Local feed is powered by Topix which has been placing solid blogs in their feeds for years. This isn't a case of ESPN handpicking blog posts and linking to them.

... I didn't even know this section of ESPN.com (haven't been there in awhile) existed until Hardwood Paroxysm pointed me to it yesterday, but apparently ESPN has a new section off of it's NBA Main page titled "NBA Local News". At first glance it seems like just a collection of team specific stories from papers around the country, but after a closer look there's more within the page. ...
