Hogs' Nutt Ready to Bust
Published 11/26/2007 at JoeSportsFan.com
Per ESPN.com, it appears that Houston Nutt will not return to coach the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2008.  I'd have to say it's somewhat surprising, considering Nutt's Hogs hanged long enough to beat #1 LSU on Friday - and came from behind on two different occasions.  Sure, Darren McFadden had much to do with that, but Casey Dick and Robert Johnson did their part to keep the Hogs strong.  Dick and Johnson definitely grew within Nutt's system and matured as the season wore on. ...

The university would not comment on the nature of the announcement, other than to say Nutt, Chancellor John White and outgoing athletic director Frank Broyles will be on hand. Nutt, who will receive a settlement in the neighborhood of $3.5 million, led the Razorbacks to two SEC championship game appearances. The ...

VoteOfConfidenceGate Continues...
Published 11/26/2007 by MariusJanulisForThree at Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician
As more college coaches bite the dust (fare thee well Houston Nutt, Chan Gailey and Ted Roof) and rumors run rampant over their replacements (Paul Johnson to Nebraska, Kirk Ferentz to Michigan), Syracuse remains decidedly mum over the future of Greg Robinson, which, is in itself a statement just as loud as if they were to officially announce his return for season #4. That might be the only justifiable reason as to why they haven't made a public decision ...

College Football Coaching Carousel/Carnage
Published 11/26/2007 by briandtw at Sports Frog
... Houston Nutt out at Arkansas. I'm officially on record as mocking Arkansas fans for forcing Nutt out. They're delusional if they think they're going to be able to entice a big name coach to Fayetteville and have Arkansas winning more games than Nutt won. This falls under the category of "being careful what you wish for." Hogs fans wanted Nutt's scalp and they got it. Now the hard part is finding a miracle worker who will be able to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse. ...
