Don't put it past them. **** Hornets get love from Times. **** EDS leaving Byron Nelson? **** Regardless of what happens to Kason Gabbard, Engel Beltre or David Murphy, dumping Eric Gagne was a brilliant move. **** However, moves looking pretty bad: John Danks and Armando Galaragga.

... By my math the Dodgers have scored either 0 or 1 run in 12 of their last 22 games. No positive way you can put a spin on that, my friends. I watched most of the game at a sports bar downtown in hopes of taking a drink every time they scored a run off of Detroit's Armando Galarraga . And I stayed sober just ...

... 1.41 WHIP makes Cleveland faithful wince, when they consider how efficient he's been in the Minor Leagues at keeping batters off the base paths and from finding home plate (2.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP in 414.0 IP). Sowers is another one of those young lefties that I just can't seem to think there's still plenty of time and hope for, though he will be 26 this May, so he better decide to get in gear soon before the Indians decide to go with one of their other options (if they haven't already). Game 5: Rangers at Tigers
Bless You Boys —
Kris Benson vs. Armando Galarraga, 1:05 p.m. EST
Not even a 1-3 start for the Tigers can ruin the holiday feel that Opening Day gives Detroit. Well, maybe it's a little bit of a bummer. But I think people are willing to look past that for what's often an official sign of spring around here. Hopefully, the Tigers respond positively to beginning the home portion of their season, and the bats adapt nicely to their first dose of cold weather.
But the Texas Rangers come into town looking strong after ...

... Matt Harrison (0-0, -.--) vs. Justin Verlander (0-1, 19.64), 1:05 p.m. EST
Yesterday, in front of an Opening Day crowd, the Tigers brought out the big bats and pounded some Texas pitching. Can they keep the good times rolling today, in front of a perhaps less festive crowd (though it will surely be the first game of the season for plenty in the stands), but one no less enthusiastic? (The weather forecast says it's going to be a pleasant day at the ballpark.)
So would you have guessed that after the first ...
Game 7: Rangers at Tigers
Bless You Boys —
Kevin Millwood (1-0, 1.29) vs. Edwin Jackson (1-0, 1.23), 1:05 p.m. EST
I hesitate to say what the Tigers could do with a win today, for fear of invoking the jinx, but you know what I'm talking about. Rhymes with "leap"?
Edwin Jackson was flat-out robbed on Tuesday night, after pitching one of the best games we've seen from a Tigers starting pitcher in quite a while. Hopefully, the bullpen does a better job of supporting him today. Jackson faced the Rangers once last season, holding ...
