Reading the comments on Tom Cruise.  It is obivious the writers had not read up on his profile.  He has been with Arsenal since the age of 8years.  He is known as Thomas Cruise.  He has played for England several times. Not just for the last five minutes most games he played the full match.  It is the media the choose to call him Tom Cruise.  There are generations of his namesake, His father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. Nothing whatsoever to do with the actor.  His parents are knowhere near that petty. I should know I am his grandmother and a very proud one at that.

Thomas has featured in the Arsenal programe. Once in November 2007 and again in December, he is a very private person and would not welcome the fact that I or anyone other person was to blow his trumpet for him.  My main concern was to let people know he was not named after Tom Cruise. And I was offended to think he had been.  But he will always be my top Gun anyway.

The strategy of the young guns seems to be working all around for Arsenal.

Maybe this young gun will also be a top gun some day.

Tom Cruise Takes the Field
The Offside — Tom Cruise Takes the Field By: Laurie | January 9th, 2008 What position do you picture Tom Cruise playing? Stop snickering. I’m serious. I’m thinking he’s a Top Gun . You know. The Legend in his own mind? The prima donna striker who can only be put on in the 85th minute because otherwise he’ll get injured? The guy who has All the Right Moves , unless he comes up against someone with talent. The guy who’s main interest isn’t play on the field, but merely in The Color of Money . And the occasional Cocktail afterwards. But it would certainly seem like Risky Business to put him in goal when your real goalkeeper gets injured. But that’s the truth of it. Oh, wait. Never mind! I take it all back! This ...

Tom Cruise plays soccer!
The Beautiful Game — I was passed along this story by ric-s over at BallHype, who does an admirable job of spreading soccer news. Apparently, Tom Cruise (right) plays in the Arsenal youth program. While I could make "Top Gun" and "Risky Business" jokes all day, this story on the team website beat me to it... His personal mission impossible materialised into a task most comfortable: “I have never played in goal before and to be honest I was a little bit scared although I was pleased to be involved as I was not due to play because I had been ill all week... Classic.
