Today we traded Randy Wolf to the Astros for RHP Chad Reineke. As discussed a while back, given his contractual situation - free agent at the end of the year - Randy was a likely candidate to be traded before the deadline. The fact that the Astros had ...Ed Wade Loses His Mind, Trades For Randy Wolf

There are good trades, there are bad trades, there are in-between trades, and then there are trades that just don't make a lick of sense. The Astros traded for Randy Wolf today to strengthen their rotation for their intense battle for last place in the NL Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates. If you're uncertain, this trade falls into the last category. Ed Wade , however, seems pretty freaking ...Sad State of Baseball

What is there to be happy about as an Astros fan? Should we be happy that our owners are making trades sending young talent(albeit not exactly a top prospect) to other teams in exchange for a veteran, bottom of the rotation guy that is more than likely going to leave at the end of the season? I don't really understand the trade sending Chad Reineke to the Padres for Randy ...Houston Trades For Wolf

The Astros acquired Randy Wolf on Tuesday, sending AAA righty Chad Reineke to San Diego. This has inspired headlines, from writers I enjoy and read every day, such as " Astros' pursuit of Wolf baffling " and " Ed Wade Loses His Mind, Trades For Randy Wolf ". Look, I get that Ed Wade isn't the best GM in the league. He has made some questionable moves, and comments about "not believing in ...Transaction Assesment - Latest Movings And Shakings

Here are my takes on the most recent trades in baseball. The San Diego Padres Trade LHP Randy Wolf To The Houston Astros For RHP Chad Reineke. I don’t get this trade at all, as Wolf has been horrific away from PETCO. He’ll eat innings and perhaps provide Shawn Chacon-esque production, but that’s about it. As for Reineke, he is a decent little prospect who has been ...Wolf to Astros, Rauch to Diamondbacks

The Astros entered play Tuesday 12 games behind the Cubs in the National League Central and 10 games behind the Brewers in the NL wild card. Yet, against such great odds, the Astros aren’t ready to wave the white flag. The Astros added stretch run help by acquiring left-handed starter Randy Wolf from the Padres in a trade for Class AAA Round Rock right-hander Chad Reineke . ...Wolf traded to the Astros

BY ADAM RONIS The Padres traded lefthander Randy Wolf to the Astros for minor league pitcher Chad Reineke . Wolf is 6-10 with a 4.74 ERA, but was excellent at home in spacious PETCO Park and awful on the road. He was 5-4 with a 3.17 ERA at home and 1-6 with a 6.63 ERA on the road. He will start on Sunday at Milwaukee.Hungry Like the Wolf

Randy Wolf has a new home —the Houston Astros, for whose general manager Ed Wade he pitched while in Philadelphia. The Astros surrendered minor league pitcher Chad Reineke to get the lefthander, whose 2008 has equaled 6-10/4.74 in twenty-one starts for the San Diego Padres, following an injury-disrupted 2007 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. And nobody can seem to figure out why. A few ...Randy Wolf to Houston

That's right, the Houston Astros, who are ten games removed from a playoff spot have acquired a veteran free-agent-to-be starting pitcher . I suppose this is Ed Wade's idea of answering back to C.C. Sabathia and Rich Harden. Cute, if not effective. The price is a AAA pitcher by the name of Chad Reineke, more on him in a bit. First let's see what Paul DePodesta said about Wolf not too ...Padres Deal Randy Wolf To Astros For Pitching Prospect

The Padres have traded starter Randy Wolf to Houston for pitching prospect RHP Chad Reineke ( 2008 stats ). Reinecke was the seventh ranked prospect in the Astros' farm system going into the season according to the Baseball America 2008 Prospect Handbook , which cited inconsistent command and mechanics as problems. Moved around between starting and relief, Reineke is about what you could ...Wolf To Astros

Today the Padres sent P Randy Wolf to Houston in return for minor league pitcher Chad Reineke. Reineke isn’t a great pitcher, with a 4.41 ERA in 19 starts for Round Rock, Houston’s AAA affiliate. But, with a less than 1/1 GB/FB ratio, it seems that Reineke would be able to benefit from the change to San Diego’s spacious Petco Park. He is a big guy at 6′6″, 210 ...Wolf traded to Astros

According to mlb.com (click here for the article) the San Diego Padres have traded Randy Wolf to the Houston Astros for Chad Reineke, a minor league RHP. I am a little puzzled by this one, as it is not like the Astros are in the race at this point. Plus, you are picking up a pitcher [...]The Wolf to the Astros In Exchange for Tripe-A Pitcher Chad Reineke

The Wolf to the Astros In Exchange for Tripe-A Pitcher Chad Reineke "The Padres have dealt left-hander Randy Wolf to the Astros for Chad Reineke, a Triple-A pitcher who has averaged nearly a strikeout per inning. A key part of the deal for the Padres is the potential financial savings. Wolf is due a $175,000 bonus for every start he makes up to his 30th start, in addition to pro-rated ...Astros send minor leaguer to Padres for Randy Wolf
