According to FOX 26 Sports in Houston, the Astros signed pitcher Mike Hampton today. He just needs to complete a physical. Hampton pitched for the Astros from 1994-99 before he was traded to the Mets.
Hampton sought a one-year deal with no option, so I imagine that's what the Astros offered.

MyFoxHouston is reporting that the Astros have come to an agreement with free agent Mike Hampton.
UPDATE: Footer is reporting it too.
He was looking for a one-year, no option deal so he could build up his value.
It'll be tough to make a judgment on this one until we know the terms of the deal, but if he's healthy and can stay that way for a full season, he might be a bargain.
