Don Garber has said a few times that the regions of the country with no teams yet are a high priority. Atlanta would be great, then. St. Louis is good because MLS wants - and should have - more midwest teams, too. San Diego wants a team, but we are in the same boat as Atlanta in not having a properly-sized facility already in place.
The Commissioner has also said that the league can expand to more than 20 teams, and that 24 is not out of the question. I have to think that there are plenty of cities that want teams, and that the largest cities with the biggest soccer fan bases should have teams included in this number. 10 years from now, I think 24 teams will be fine.
