Finally, a Reason to Go to a Grizzlies Game
Published 12/21/2007 by Matt Watson at FanHouse
Filed under: Grizzlies, Eastern, NBA Fans, NBA Police Blotter, NBA VideosThank you, Awful Announcing. Thank you. Ordinarily this is where I'd make a joke about this being the most exciting thing to happen at FedEx Forum all season, but after Rudy Gay's dramatic game-winner the other night, the punchline falls a little flat. But still, I think this is a rather petty offense, especially since this was most likely exactly what the cameraman was going for. From ...
Stephanie Simpson: Grizzlies Fan Flashes Crowd on Jumbotron, Local Media Overreacts
Published 12/21/2007 at FanIQ Blog
... During your typical scan of the crowd finding drunk middle-aged men who shouldn't be dancing, the Grizzlies were treated to a little more. Miss Simpson offered up two gifts to the holiday crowd, in fact. She was subsequently arrested, seems a little harsh, and now the local media is wonder if Grizz games are a safe place to bring the kids. ...

Sailing Captain and die-hard Grizzlies fan flashes for the faithful
Published 12/21/2007 at Ball Don't Lie
... The funniest part about this post isn't the idea that this
woman flashed a camera and brought the goods to the Jumbotron, or that it
happened in the midst of a game that
I described as not "nearly as entertaining as it should have been." Naw,
the funniest part about this clip is this quote:
"The report describes
Simpson as a ‘Sailing Captain,' and possibly under the influence of alcohol."

... A story about a woman at a Grizzlies game flashing the crowd via the Jumbotron doesn’t need much more help to be funny. But then you watch the Youtube video of the TV report, and you are rewarded with a string of words so amusing that you can’t stop laughing for minutes. Or maybe days. It’s only been minutes so far. We don’t want to ruin it, but here are the words (we ruined it anyway): “The police report says she admitted to flashing the crowd while dancing. The report describes Simpson as a sailing captain, and possibly ...

... The other night at the Celtics/Pistons game I was close enough to the Celtics bench to avoid getting caught up in the insanity of the jumbotron. Man that thing is evil. But at one point, as I watched people dance and mug for their 15 seconds of fame, I thought about flipping it off the entire arena if my faced popped up the jumbotron. Granted I never would have. But apparently someone did have the guts to shake things up. Hat tip to ...

The title pretty much gives this story away. I’ve been to many Marlins and Heat games where people try and surprisingly get their middle finger on the Jumbotron, but this girl takes the cake.
Hey, at least there was finally some excitement at a Grizzlies’ game.
Thanks: AwfulAnnouncing.
