Bad Call? I Think Not... Move On Oakland
In last nights game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors there was plenty of complaining from both sides. The Warriors stole the first game of the home and home set on Sunday at the Staples Center and the Lakers were prepared to battle in Oakland last night. The Warriors came out strong, again, took an 11 point lead at halftime, and again, managed to blow the lead...

Jeez.....where do we start with our buddy LABallTalk?

Even Derek Fisher said it was a bad call.  He expected no call at all, and was surprised the whistle blew.  But this is my favorite part of this blog post:

By the way, I’m not even going to bother mentioning the offensive foul where Baron Davis ran straight through Kobe busting his face open with a cut below his left eye that was bleeding throughout the night. Not only was there not a call against Davis, but the blocking foul went against Kobe… that makes a lot of sense.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that rule.  It's not possible to commit a foul if you're the one getting injured.  Kobe clearly established position after Baron was in the air.  Learn a little basketball if you're going to take the time to write about it.

The point is simple. I agree with you that the last play would've been better as a no call. Thats 100%. In regards to the Baron/Kobe play, I really don't think Kobe was all that late... but suppose he was late, contact above the head is a flagrant foul automatically... it was a strange situation but I appreciate your input. The bottom line is that the game wasn't lost on fouls, but it was an amazing showing of momentum and defense, from both teams. I don't support the call made by the refs at the end simply because I know how hard it is to lose a game based on bad calls, from plenty of experiences already as a fan.
