First off, housecleaning: WOAH!! 1372 votes over the weekend (especially that last Sunday burst from ahem ahem the GSoM Knights) where we saw a commanding lead from Ronnie Price get squashed into oblivion by the one and true B.Diddy. Congrats you and to your voters *APPLAUSE SIGN*!
Now, back to the present: this time, the Bracketfest would like to flip things up a bit. Instead of doing round by round match up we're gonna make it a straight up race of 10 nominees and you vote on them.
This week's agenda is, as you have correctly read from the title--unless you're SI.com-- is indeed your favourite (or not so favourite) films with athletes in 'em. I took into consideration other examples (see: Deadspin; MSNBC... and actually, there's a whole lot of these athlete/film things ... I guess I'm not original anymore ... *blog tear*) BUT, we still need YOUR help: I've only located and found 4 good ones that thankfully the YouTube gods have uploaded ... YOU will need to let us know, via comments, which films are YOUR favourite with jocks (male or female, your choice) and provide a video link so we can give this 10 headed race a proper chance. How 'bout huh??
Okay, here are your candidates (so far...)
OJ Simpson in Naked Gun (hey, it's laughable material)
Kareem Abdul Jabbar in Airplane! (just don't call him Shirley)
Brett Favre in There's Something About Mary (just the beginning, man Cameron Diaz ... )
Johnny Weissmuller - Tarzan And The Amazons (woah! black and white alert!)
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AS MR. FREEZE (don't hate, his usage of puns is at such an advanced level that Shakespeare can't hold his icicle compared to him ... )
*okay, joke entry... but I'm running thin here lads and lasses ... please please help out yo*

tziller I went with Arnold for purely comedic reasons. One of two redeeming casting decisions in that movie. -
RedBaron Alex Karras did some fine work here:

TheHype Oh my god. That rules. Why couldn't someone have done that to Barbaro.....
(ps: a little short perhaps...)

Erin You know, it's O.J.'s 60th birthday today. Does that earn him some sympathy votes?-
JaketheSnake In a word, no.
:D
For the record, I voted for Kareem. Although, I'm kind of surprised his role in Game of Death didn't get a nomination.

TheHype My boi Bruce punked him too hard ... it wouldn't've felt right (side note: the usage of "n't've" is illegal in 7 provinces)

JaketheSnake Yeah, you shouldn't've gone that far with your contractions because I couldn't've thought of anyway to help you're grammatic's. (Yes, that was intended)
I agree, that Bruce did punk Kareem too much to be a viable contender, but he'll always have his t-shirt.
