So. What a difference a week makes in the sports world. Last time in the first ever BSB the world was enamoured the Golden State Warriors. And now, look at them! The bandwagon is now suddenly being derailed by the sleekier Utah Jazz bandwagon--complete with a story that, as a human being, you can't not root for. We wish the best for Derek Fisher and his family as well as for Dee Brown's speedy recovery.

Now, onto to some SmorgasBloggin:

-- Without a doubt, Vernon Wells and his balls reverse-heckling baseball was the #1 Hyped story for last week. If I may, for just a tad moment: that is what makes Ballhype awesome (not just because I'm the "Community Manager" round these part, I swear!) because it was here that I first saw the story with the help of individual votes and comments -- well before Deadspin hit 'em up with a link. It's an amazing post that would've gathered attention regardless, but submissions like those makes Ballhype a solid daily pit spot looking for all the best original blog posts around the 'nets.

-- For an encore, they even got the O.H.--Original Heckler-- retell the whole episode. Man, it's like Lord of the Rings trilogy they've got there. Oh yeah, the story got picked up... on TV! I'm so jealous... er... happy for Home Run Derby! Congrats!

But you know, that brings up a thought or three. Who else was as clever as Mr. Wells in confronting a heckler? I looked it up (re: I didn't) and this is what I found (re: fake)--

-- Speaking of basketball, we've got a very interesting bet going on here at Ballhype that everyone should make sure to follow. Jason man, I don't doubt Oakland's ability to will their team to make it 2-2, but dude, I already changed my Pick 'Ems ... that's all I'm going to say. Oh, and smile for the camera!

-- Apparently there's a steroid issue with MLB? Umm.. this is the first I've heard of it. Then again, I've been in a cave for 10 years.

-- You read Ballhype, now wear Ballhype!
