Soooo. What's up Ballhypers? Seen any good movies lately? Spiderman 3? What?! That's out already?? Where have I been! Um.. well, I guess we should get back to reviewing this week's best top stories... What's that? Pirates of the Carribbean is coming out too? AND Transformers??? Geez, will the NBA Playoffs end so I can catch these flicks! Sports, sheesh, so inconsiderate! -- Seemingly eons ago, but still happened this within this past week: B. Diddy's jam on AK 47. Ah, those Warriors, what fantasic joy ride. Thanks Dubs! Oh and Jason: P-I-C-T-U-R-E-S!!
-- Surely, the big NBA story, by a mile is obviously Paul Shirley's new book... er... No? Well, I guess it could be that whole "Robert Horry/Suns/Spurs/Amare/Diaw/David (I AM THE LAW!) Stern" clusterf@#% that NBA fans have been subjected to for the entire week.
-- Just to comment on the above a bit: it effin' sucks.
-- Okay, I'm not the bestest NFL person in the world (I learn everything I need to know about football from Friday Night Lights), but Brett Favre didn't retire yet? I was so sure that happened, like 5 years ago!
-- Speaking of non-retirements: I love how old school video game nostalgia gets bloggers all synched up! My common nostalgic goto blogging specialty? Whale Hunting. So next time there's a seal hunting story involving the NBA, I'll be all up in there
-- Ichiro might leave Seattle? Well, could you kindly take the fake hospital Seattle Grace from the tv show Grey's Anatomy with you? Because damn son, that finale last night was weak as hell. "I'm free"?? What the hell? (Another growing theme I notice around the male sports bloggers---it's not that we watch the show, but we actually like admitting to it... I'm not weird I swear!)
-- Amazing double entendre headlines. I'd like you double YOUR entendre! Ripping-Off-Scrubs-FIVE!
Other noteworthy Ballhype stories:
- Hey you think YOUR owner sucks... wait until you see the other guy!
- The blog world is chump change for Miss G, she's going hollywood on us!
- Baseball players: who is nice enough to sign your yearbook?
And since I'm all about learning/talking about all the sports we cover here, let's have a poll about one sport I hardly every talk about: hockey:
Poll Smoking
The Ottawa Senators lead 3-1 in the Conf. Finals, they might have a great chance in winning Lord Stanley's tin...
| Yes, they will finally bring the cup back to Canadians | |
| No, because that would make us (I'm Canadian) happy, and that should never happen | |
| Canada has senators?! | |

tziller I think every blog has already referenced The Office season finale last night, but what the hell: Ryan's breakup with Kelly at the end was all sorts of hilarious. Also, Stanley and Kevin remain the funniest characters on the show. "The same as the ratio of unicorns to leprechauns." Oh my god. -
Brian I will maintain to my deathbed that the original BBC version of "The Office" is lightyears, nay, infinite lightyears better than the American one. I just can't get into it.
Steve Carrell is no Ricky Gervais.
-
tziller The Beeb's version is very good. But I've been fully satisfied by NBC's version. One of the only shows I can't miss. -
Jason I agree that Steve Carrell is no Ricky Gervais (although he's still pretty funny). But to me, NBC's "supporting cast" makes up for it--almost every one is consistently funny. The BBC show didn't have as much depth.-
tziller The young people from the show are going to end up being the next Hollywood clique, too: Halpert is turning a David Foster Wallace collection into a film and The Temp and Kelly are writing Office episodes. Very talented bunch.
Ed Helms is off the chart, too.
-
Erin I'll get back on topic in a sec, but am I the only one who got dusty at the end of the show last night?
-
-
-
louismg The BBC Office is the only true Office. I refuse to watch the garbage Yanks version.
-
-
TheHype What the hell guys?? Let's talk about Christina Yang leaving Preston Burke at the altar!!
To me, it's apples and oranges for the BBC and NBC versions of The Office... I'm just glad they is *some* format of it still out there... on and y'all get minus 600 Stanley Coins for not staying on topic!

Erin Dusty = as if one had a bit of dust in one's eye, causing momentary tearing.
And back to the post -- I can't believe the Baron dunk on Andre was this week. It seems like ages ago. The rest of the week was just depressing, frankly.
