BasketVols: The Joy of Disappointment
BasketVols: The Joy of Disappointment
In the end, a win by Tennessee against Louisville would have helped the BasketVols take one more step forward, but the loss isn’t a step backward. Coach Pearl summed it up best when he recounted what he told the players after the game: “Tonight could have added to this season, but in no way did it didn’t detract from it.“

Third Saturday in Blogtober — ... P.? Sigh. Pearl had this to say to the Knoxville News Sentinel: Pearl brushed off rumors he might leave the Vols for another coaching vacancy — there’s been widespread speculation that Indiana will pursue him for its opening.“It’s great to be a Tennessee Vol,’’ Pearl said. “I anticipate I’ll be back if Tennessee will have me, and I think they’ll have me.’’ Joel has a Standing O for this year’s Vols. Finally, something that makes me happy. Thanks, LawVol ...

BLOG DAY AFTERNOON - SWEET 16 / TEPID 12 EDITION
Thirtyfive Seconds — ... Finally, gotta give Gate 21 some credit for putting lipstick on the pig today after their Vols got depantsed by Louisville. We’re not sure whether we are jealous of their good attitude, or scornful of their low expectations. We’re leaning towards the latter, if only because last weekend’s losses still hurt. ...

Louisville’s Defense Sends Tennessee Packing 79-60Slam Dunk Central
It just wasn’t Tennessee’s night. After all, when your team shoots 34% from the floor, you stand little chance of winning a ballgame; Thursday night’s contest against Louisville validated that point. Louisville coach Rick Pitino utilized different defenses, and the end result was a resounding, 79-60 win over Tennessee in the NCAA East Regional semifinal at Charlotte ...

The view from cloud nine is pretty outstanding. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend taking a second to stop and take a gander. Louisville Blows Out Tennessee 79-60, Tar Heels AwaitFanIQ Blog
Bruce Pearl's Vols were able to overcome a lot of poor shooting nights by getting some easy transition buckets but Louisville didn't let that happen. They also didn't let Tennessee get many rebounds or allow Chris Lofton to get comfortable. You need a post player if you're going to advance far in this tournament. Just ask Duke. This may sound like an incredible stretch but last ...

As expected UNC-Louisville set for a 9:05 PM ET tip on Saturday night….and we thought Thursday was a long day. Watching Tennessee play Lousiville last night I was actually hoping UT would find a way to win that game since I think UNC would flat run the Vols right out of downtown Charlotte. The UNC men have an opponent for Saturday, as Louisville easily handled Tennessee 79-60. The UNC women, of course, knew Tuesday who they'd be playing on Saturday - Louisville. Vols' Loss to Louisville Dashes SEC HopesFanHouse
Tennessee was the SEC's brightest hope for the conference's fourth Final Four berth in three years. Dancin’ At The Sweet 16: Tennessee - LouisvilleIntentional Foul
Tennessee/Louisville Outlook This might be the only regional final where the two coaches outshine their respective teams. On one side, it’s Bruce Pearl and his never-ending quest of self-promotion (albeit, for the benefit of his team) and on the other, there stand Rick Pitino, the apple of the eye for all University of Kentucky fans.
