Indians, Orioles Looking At Bay?
Published 11/10/2007 by Tim Dierkes at MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
... Logically the Indians would be in the mix for Bay.  He's affordable - he makes only $13.25MM over the next two seasons.  And Huntington used to work for Tribe GM Mark Shapiro.  Marty York backs up the speculation, saying the Indians are the most interested club.  ...

Chuck Tanner was hired as a special assistant to the GM. I'm sorry, but this seems like the same type of PR crap the old front office loved so much. It's nice to see him back with the club and all, but he's almost 80 years old and I can't imagine he's going to be much help to Huntington. Neal Huntington apparently is shopping Jason Bay. So apparently we'll find out what kind of GM he's going to be pretty quickly (via Bucs Dugout and Honest Wagner). Base coaches will wear helmets in light of the Mike Coolbaugh tragedy this ...

It’s time to start doubting Huntington

... According to a report about nine days ago, the Pirates are trying to trade Jason Bay in order to “restock the minor league system,” therefore defying all logic and managing to show a stupidity that even Dave Littlefield was too intelligent to demonstrate. As has been said before, Bay is coming off of one of the worst stretches of baseball in his entire career. Bay never quite found his groove last season, looking uncomfortable both at the plate and in the field for extended stretches of time. There was some speculation that he never quite recovered from knee surgery performed ...
