 BBTF's Transaction Oracle Discussion :: 2008 ZiPS Projections - Milwaukee Brewers  Links4
The Brewers look again like they'll be a pretty good team. The biggest concern I think is that the team needs to sort out who plays where - the defense looks a little like one of those small picture puzzles which has 15 sliding squares and room for 16 but you have to manipulate them into the proper order to see the sailboat or the puppy dog or Linus Pauling. Probably their best SS option ... [link]

... and ZIPS has him projected at 20 HR and an .811 OPS for next season. As I said, that's all better than I originally thought - Rolen and Reyes for Capuano and Hall. Interesting. I may have just talked myself into it. ...

Careful what you wish for

... Well, I’ve certainly advocated using the opportunity to improve the team, and if the Cards can get Capuano (maybe even someone else), that sure sounds like an ok deal to me. ZIPS projects a 4.48 ERA in 195 innings with 52 BB, 154 K and 25 HRs allowed. Naturally that would change a bit with a different defense and home ball park, but that’s not a bad line for a starter. 2008 Detroit Tigers

... of the most exciting parts of the long wintry offseason for me is when teams announce one or more of their players are changing position, like what the Milwaukee Brewers did this off-season. They've improved their team, possibly by quite a bit, without making many external transactions - Mike Cameron is the only part of the equation that is new, but the added value to the team of moving Braun to LF and Hall to 3B is greater than just Cameron's addition. (By the way, Dan Szymborski goes one step further, suggesting Hall->SS, Hardy->2B, Weeks->somewhere - maybe RF, with ...
