Adam Archuleta had one exceptional season, 2002, when he made 116 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four passes defended and one interception. His other six seasons have been fair [56 tackles in ‘01] to good [88 tackles in ‘04], but teams remember him for that one great year.
Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, being Daniel Snyder, signed Archuleta to the richest contract ever offered to a safety in 2006. Archuleta lost the starting safety role before the season started. He played only because Pierson Prioleau, the man who beat him out, suffered a freak knee injury on the opening kick-off of the season. Archuleta was benched again by mid-season. ...
