Bears moving dynamic Hester to offense - Chicago Bears

Coach Lovie Smith revealed Monday that All-Pro return specialist Devin Hester will switch from defense to offense beginning with this weekend s full-squad minicamp. I think Devin Hester is one of the most exciting players in the NFL with his ... [link]

... It was only a matter of time, I guess. After six special teams touchdowns his rookie season, Devin Hester -- a man without a true position -- will be joining the offense. Hester was listed as a cornerback at the University of Miami, but that's not why the Bears selected him in the second round of the 2006 draft. Whatever, he's taking his skillz to the other side of the ball : Hester will work with the wide receivers at minicamp, but he's also expected to line up in the backfield at times and could be utilized like the New Orleans Saints' Reggie Bush. Well, Chicago could utilize him like Reggie Bush, but I'm pretty sure that'll be where the comparisons end. I'm envisioning more of an Antwaan Randle El-type role. Whatever, I think it's a good idea. Hester is obviously a scoring threat, and if nothing else, he'll take some of the pressure of Rex Grossman. Which reminds me, maybe Hester can line up at quarterback fo

... Hester Moving To Offense One day, we will have a projection system based solely on coach quotes about a player. In this vein, the quotes from this article project Hester to have about 14 catches for 165 yards and 8 carries for 48 yards, most of which will be on bubble screens and reverses. There are easier ways to get 1.5 DPAR. posted 5-14-2007 at 6:19 PM by

Hester Moving to Offense

... When the Bears start minicamp on Friday, Rex Grossman will have a new offensive weapon. Devin Hester, who scored 7 touchdowns off kick returns as a rookie, is moving to offense in an undefined roll. Hester will work with the wide receivers at minicamp, but he’s also expected to line up in the backfield at times and could be utilized like the New Orleans Saints’ Reggie Bush. Even though Hester might not like the move, it had to be done. He actually wasn’t as terrible at cornerback as people thought he was, but every time he lined up on defense, opposing receivers screamed for the ball, like the Rams’ Torry Holt did in Week 13 last season. Hester will probably get most his action as a receiver, because the Bears’ drafted Garrett Wolfe to fill the “Reggie Bush role” out of
