 Beckett: ‘I felt good’ Links4
T ORONTO - The pitching line didn t tell Josh Beckett [ stats ] s story yesterday. His words following his 2008 debut did. My health was good, the Red Sox [ team stats ] ace said. Just minutes after the Sox 7-4 loss to the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, a major sports Web site posted the headline, BoSox swept, Beckett shelled in 08 debut. The second portion was perhaps a bit strong. In 4 2/3 ... [link]

Red Sox News & Notes - 4/7
Published 4/7/2008 by Ian at SOX & Dawgs
Tough weekend for the Boston Red Sox as they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays. The story of the weekend was not return of Josh Beckett yesterday but rather the anemic bullpen, who struggled for the most part. There were a few bright spots in the bullpen, Julian Tavarez, Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon, although the latter two were used to get work in. In 9 1/3 innings, the bullpen gave up 11 hits, 11 runs (10 earned), 5 walks while striking out 8. With the success the bullpen had last season, this is not what we’ve come to expect out of the bullpen. After the game yesterday, Beckett said he felt fine but obviously wasn’t happy with the ...

Monday News Roundup

Bartolo Colon now has soreness in his right side and his next start with the PawSox might be pushed back. Josh Beckett said he felt good after pitching yesterday...health wise. Julio Lugo is not a favorite of Red Sox Nation after making 3 errors at short yesterday. The message boards do not have much good to say and the ProJo has a piece on Jed Lowrie in today's paper. The Vermont Air National Guard will conduct the flyover before the home opener on Monday at Fenway. I hope they can do better than the Oakland flyover that was did not arrive until at least a minute after the National Anthem was over, they had to tell players to stay on ...

Can't get back home soon enough...

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I hate the Blue Jays more than the Yankees. Those jerkfaces! So the Sox are 23-34 against Toronto dating back to 2005 — the most wins by any opponent. Coincidentally, as someone point out on Sons of Sam Horn last night, the Jays are 23-34 versus the Yankees in the same time period. How nice. At least Frank Thomas is on my fantasy team! But, alas, so is Josh Beckett. Anyway. A shitty trip from start to finish. ...

VIDEO: Hostage victim forced to recite Red Sox box score

I can think of plenty of reasons why someone would record themselves for YouTube: They’re vain; they’re auditioning for America’s Funniest Home Videos; or they’re from the Midwest and it’s Saturday. But why would a teenage kid sit on his couch and read the box score from Friday’s Blue Jays/Red Sox game, while intermittently looking off camera, acting like someone’s holding a gun to his head?
