Canucks In the Big Apple
KK Hockey —
from Jeff Vinnick of VancouverCanucks.com, Tonight,
Tuesday evening, a few guys opted for a 5-star dinner, a couple other hit Broadway and a few more went to the live Letterman taping.
I’d like to think I topped the list: I got tickets to the Daily Show. Seeing Jon Stewart in person was something special. Now that I have my gloating out of the way, I can talk about our practice day in the big apple.
We started off with a trip to the NHL head offices on the Avenue of the Americas (at 47th Street). Both Mason Raymond and Roberto Luongo got up extra early so they could do interviews for the NHL Hockey Show. We then got a ...
That Blue Will Never Fit Ya Mark
Yankee Canuck —
Anyone else have today circled on the calendar? I’ll admit I messed the date up, go me. So first things first: the Isles made quick work off far too many Canuck mistakes Monday night. As I said in the liveblog , better they learn the hard way against a poor team than have their ass handed to them by a better one (the sting is harsher). Is this the start of yet another scoring problem ? I don’t think so; the team was sloppy in their own end and MacDonald was phenomenal. If that was Toskala again we’d still be at the bar celebrating. Meanwhile, Sanford wants to play (kinda) and Edler may jump back into the line-up tonight, ...

Combine TSN’s Darren Dreger and the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch and what ultimately comes out of the wash is a trade rumor that flips Antoine Vermette and Matias Ohlund.
Hate the hockey media? Hire Alex Edler for your next attack. With a flu-symptom-inspired quarantine, he needs to fly commercial plus get his own $500 a night hotel room upon arrival, but he’s worth it. Surrounded by reporters in NYC yesterday, the quote from assistant coach Rick Bowness in the Vancouver Sun was “Breathe on them all Alex. Breathe on them all.” ...

Canucks lose Luongo in win
faceoff.com 11/23/2008 — PITTSBURGH -- What should have been the best Vancouver Canuck road trip in two years ended alarmingly Saturday -- not with a lost game, but a lost superstar. Vancouver impressively beat the Sidney Crosby-Evgeni Malkin Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 here, but ...

Luongo Out
hockeyprogram.blogspot.com 11/22/2008 — Roberto Luongo left today's game early in the first period with what is being termed a lower body injury. hockey-madness.blogspot.com 11/22/2008 — We've seen Luongo fall to the ice like he was dying from a gun wound in the past. Then he'd get up. Not today. A Penguins player shot the puck from the point and it went off Willie Mitchell's skate. Luongo was in the butterfly position on his knees ...
