ESPN.com's Chris Mortensen is reporting that the Cincinnati Bengals have rejected the Washington Redskins' offer of two draft picks for Chad Johnson . The Redskins offered its first-round pick, No. 21 overall, and a conditional third-rounder in 2009 that could escalate to a first rounder if Johnson and the Redskins hit certain performance levels, the sources said. The future is never: Redskins allegedly offer two first round picks for a 30 year old receiver
Published 4/22/2008 by Skin Patrol at Hogs Haven
... and a huge chunk of change to get the thirty year old player they want? I vote no, but don't take my word for it, as there will be a poll attached. Elsewhere: Lee Gibbons at Redskin Report: Johnson may be an elite NFL receiver, but there is no receiver in the NFL worth two 1st round picks.  Even if the performance clauses aren’t met and the pick would have remained a 3rd rounder, its still too much.  AOL Fanhouse: Cincy's wall comes from the fact that a deal means they take an ...

Prospects that Could Fall

New Era
And so begins the new era of the Redskins. Resisting the urge to up the ante for Chad Johnson, the Redskins instead figured out that trading down for more picks was the way to go. I could quibble with the amount we got in the deal. Because essentially I felt like the 1st and 3rd [...]
Redskins Third Pick: Receiver Malcolm Kelly
Your doing it wrong The Redskins used their third and final pick in the second round, the 51st pick, this was their pick and not acquired from the Falcons in the draft day trade , on Oklahoma receiver Malcolm Kelly, the third consecutive receiving position player taken by the Redskins, a team that needs secondary and offensive line help. From the nfl.com profile on Malcolm: Height: 6' 4" ...
Redskins Second Pick: Tight End Fred Davis
WTF?!?!! The Redskins used the second of the three draft picks they acquired from the Falcons in trade for the Redskins' 21st overall pick for... USC tight end Fred Davis? Exsqueeze me? Washington Redskins Select WR Devin Thomas at #33
The Redskins have gone with WR Devin Thomas. Thomas was the highest rated receiver on most draft boards. Most mock drafts had him going well before the Redskins original top pick at 21, but receivers have seemingly dropped off the board and he was surprisingly still available even after the Redskins traded down. VITALS Height: 6′2 Weight: 216lbs 40 yard time: 4.4 Scout ...
Washington Redskins Trade Pick 21
Washington Redskins have moved their 1st round pick - 21st overall to the Atlanta Falcons along with their 3rd round pick and a 5th round pick for 2 2nd round picks (34 and 48) and 4th round pick. I like it. Three 2nd round picks to fill holes works for me. Full details - Redskins Receive: Picks 34, 48 and 103 Redskins Trade: Picks 21, 84 and 154
Redskins Look to Upgrade WR
As the NFL Draft is about to be under way, the Redskins have been rebuffed by both the Bengals and Cardinals for Chad Johnson and Boldin. Luckily for Redskins fans the Redskins haven't mortgaged the future for older and frequently injured players on a team that has several holes to fill. When the Patriots and Eagles over the past few years signed Moss and TO as the final cog to get back to ...
The Redskins Are on the Clock
Think hard before you part with that pick Draft day is here, Curly R will be covering it for the Redskins and NFC Beast teams, it starts at 3pm ET, apparently this is the first year the draft has been moved from the morning to the afternoon, in the old days the draft was an all day event starting at brunch time, in the time before life and kids we would pile into barstools at The Virginian ...
‘SKINS DON’T WANT TAYLOR
As usual, the Washington Redskins have a first-round draft pick that they’d prefer not to use. The Miami Dolphins, in turn, have a key veteran defender whom they’d prefer to trade for a first-round draft pick. And it’s well known that Taylor’s agent, Gary Wichard, is tight with Vinny Cerrato of the Redskins, who has gained [...]

Redskins 2008 Draft Preview: So Many Options
Twas the day before the draft and well, I don’t think anyone has much of a feel of what is going to happen tomorrow.?? The team appears to have narrowed their choices down to a few players, but you get the feeling they would rather trade the 21st pick than make a selection.?? So lets take a gander at the options: 1.?? Package the 21 and Other Draft Picks to Acquire??a Number One ...
Moving up in the draft?
Not necessarily with the 1st pick, mind you, but the team has a proven willingness for trading up to get mid round picks they have targeted. For example : In 2004, the Redskins had targeted tight end Chris Cooley as a third-round talent. Problem: the Redskins didn't have a third-round pick. Problem solved: the Redskins traded a 2005 second-round pick to be able to draft Cooley with ...
Business as Usual
He just couldn’t resist it. Months of discipline and careful spending have been flushed down the toilet. Let’s face it, it’s not FUN to keep your core players and expand through the draft. Redskins do Some Last Minute Scouting

Draft Profile: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
Limus Sweed was the early favorite in a lot of mock drafts to be selected by the Redskins.?? Lately with talk in Washington moving to other prospects, a lot of expert are expecting the Redskins to go elsewhere with their 1st pick.?? Sweed is one of the highest rated recievers in the draft and he does possess the size (6′5) that the Redskins covet.?? The major issue with Sweed is a ...
Draft Profile: Calais Campbell, DE, Miami
The Calais Campbell bandwagon is slowly emptying as the draft gets closer. A few weeks back Campbell was the dominate choice for the Redskins in most mock drafts, but he’s been dropping off draft boards ever since. Its unlikely that Campbell will slip down far enough for the Redskins to snap him up in the 2nd round, so if the Redskins are interested they will either have to snap ...
More Rejection for Redskins: Cards Decline offer for Boldin
With their devious plan to use draft picks to acquire a top flight wide receiver now out in the open, the Redskins made another attempt to lure a WR in recent days. The Cardinals rejected the offer and continue to state they will not trade Bolden (sound familiar?) Along with the ...
