The idea of the Big East Lacrosse Conference is one we've discussed in the past. Well, you can probably pencil in 2010 as the year it finally does happen. Notre Dame, Syracuse, Georgetown, Rutgers, St. John's, Villanova and Providence are the seven teams who would be a part of the conference.

So everyone's been so up in arms about the cancellation of the SU Swimming & Diving programs that they've forgotten about the reason it's happening in the first place. Syracuse is venturing into the financially-lucrative world of women's ice hockey. And the day is approaching when the team will begin its inaugural season.

Down 3-2 at halftime on Sunday, one might have felt a sense of "here we go again" with the Syracuse Men's Lacrosse team. Certainly the 2007 team would have likely lost this one. But this year, Syracuse outscored Army 4-1 in the third quarter and eventually outlasted the Black Knights 8-7 to improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2004.
