ESPN Big Ten Blog Interview with Eric Decker
Published 7/16/2008 by Tom (noreply@blogger.com) at Gopher Nation
Part 1 Part 2 ESPN's Big Ten Blog is a fairly new endeavor of theirs (began July 3) and so far I love it. Adam Rittenberg was hired away from covering Chicago area teams (NW, Notre Dame, DePaul and others) to be ESPN's Big Ten Blogger. Rittenberg chats with Decker about playing baseball, what was learned from last year and what we can look forward to this year. What do people not know about your team right now that they'll find out in ...

Odd hire.

... ESPN has introduced a Big Ten blog (terrorist fist bump: Black Shoe Diaries). The blog is authored by Adam Rittenberg, formerly of the Arlington Heights Daily Herald, a suburban Chicago paper long known for its excellent sports writing (Bruce Miles, the DH's Cubs beat writer, runs circles around his competitors at the Tribune and Sun-Times). I haven't read much yet, but he seems to be posting a wealth of information daily and doing some original reporting and interviewing as well. I don't expect that he will cover any individual team as well as those on the right sidebar ...
They Love Us, They Really Do Love Us II

... But now that’s its July, ESPN’s college football coverage can be relevant again. It’s just coincedence, of course, that this time they’re praising us. We head over to Adam Rittenberg’s blog, which, frankly, is a good read for a fan of any Big Ten team, where he tells us something we should already know: Penn State has a ...

... of the big sites like The Wizard of Odds, MGoBlog, EDSBS and SMQ. FanHouse CFB is also a must-read. I'm a huge fan of the Big Ten Blogger feed. I know so much more about other teams in the Big Ten than I did two years ago. A few of my favorite Buckeye blogs are Our Honor Defend, Buckeye Commentary and Dotting the I. Hey Jenny Slater, Get the Picture and Orange and Blue Hue are fantastic SEC blogs. Adam Rittenberg at ESPN is taking food off of our tables, but is great. Loser With Socks is ...

Zook has questionable coaching ideas

... 2nd team? Oh no, he means.... "I want him to be perfect," Zook said. "I'm a little bit of a perfectionist with him. We made a deal when I recruited him. And he forgot it. I just had to remind him. Vontae's going to be fine." You'd better hope so. Because with several key defensive players graduating last year, Vontae Davis better get the right idea pretty quick, before he pulls a Mendenhall on the coaching staff. [Chicago Tribune, via ESPN B10 Blog] Davis an Illini cornerstone here, now ...

Adam, of course, runs ESPN’s phenomenal Big Ten blog which, along with NittanyWhiteOut of course, should be saved, bookmarked, and read daily by any fan of the Big Ten. Adam was nice enough to take the time to chat with me, and so I’ll leave my introduction to a minimum and just post the interview. Thanks to everyone who sent in questions, I tried to get to most of them. ...
