Kevin Everett had more surgery earlier this week to help recover from the injury he suffered as a Buffalo Bill during the first week of the season that was supposed to leave him paralyzed for life. Agreement Reached to Make Changes to MLB Drug Policy

A tentative agreement that further strengthens MLB’s drug testing policy has been reached, marking the third time the Joint Drug Agreement (JDA) has been altered in mid-term of a collective bargaining agreement (see the current JDA). The changes, which have been in the works for weeks, will center on further recommendations from the Mitchell Report. According to lawyers familiar with the changes to the policy, an independent overseer of the drug testing program will be appointed. As reported earlier Thursday (Agreement Reached to Make Changes to MLB Drug Policy), management and the union representing the players are on the verge of updating MLB’s drug testing policy (see the current Joint Drug Agreement) by removing the current health policy advisory committee (HPAC), and moving to a new system with oversight by an independent body.
