A Sunday night televison programming reminder… Nationals Park makes its Opening Day debut tonight on ESPN (8:05 p.m. ET) as the Nationals play the Braves. The $611 million ballpark is the final piece in a lengthy process that involved the relocation of the Montreal Expos to Washington, D.C. The relocation, stadium funding, and construction, had a number of twists and turns. As you can see, it turned out to be a very nice ballpark. Chris Webber's 15 year NBA career ended on Wednesday when he officially announced his retirement. Webber, who finished with career regular season averages of 20.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 4.2 apg, participated in just nine games this season with the Golden State Warriors; his balky left knee simply would not allow him to continue playing. He averaged at least 20 ppg and 10 rpg in six different seasons and he would have finished his career as a 20 ppg-10 rpg player if not for the 70 games that he played for three different teams in 2006-07 and 2007-08. Could Isiah Thomas be out the door with the Knicks? At the very least, he will no longer be president. Donnie Walsh, the longtime former president of the Indiana Pacers will be introduced today as part of the Knicks organization at 1pm today. As reported by the NY Times: Walsh will report directly to James L. Dolan, the Garden chairman, rather than Steve Mills, the Garden president. For those that are Chicago Blackhawks fans, you’re going to get to see all of next season’s schedule wire-to-wire on television. And, not only that, over-the-air broadcasts will be plentiful, as well. As reported by the Chicago Tribune: The deal will be particularly satisfying to hockey fans who don't have cable TV. Industry sources say that as many as 20 games will go to WGN-Ch. 9, which carried the Hawks in the 1960s and early '70s.
