Ben Q. Rock +2I'm pretty bummed I couldn't participate this time. :-/ -
Ryne Nelson Can't believe Paul and Kobe are tied at the top. The shuffle between the Top 3 is more exciting than a Lakers/Warriors back-to-back!

Ryan over at Hornets247 was kind enough to host the most recent round of Blogger MVP/ROY rankings. For some reason Lee and I got invited to participate yet again. Here you can find the results... and a couple of our comments got posted. Winning 22 in a row apparently gives you leverage to say cool things and have people repeat them to a larger audience! ...

... last night do more justice than anything I could ever surmise. A buddy of mine stopped over my place before heading to the game last night, and our parting words were something along the lines of LeBron needing to show up Chris Paul simply so the media ( and LeBron-haters ) could finally see who the real MVP is this season. While I will place my foot firmly in my mouth, I will also reiterate my points from months ago that, though a bit older, Peja Stojakovic and David West are head and shoulders above Sasha Pavlovic and what was then Drew Gooden and is now Joe Smith. But ...

* Can you imagine what LeBron James and Chris Paul would look like running the court together? With Cleveland having $30 million in cap space the summer and Paul becoming a free agent in 2009, this has a possibility of happening. Do I think it will happen? No. Does the idea make me smile? You bet!

A few Sunday links... Don't forget to register your thoughts regarding the Magic's rumored uniform change. Scroll down on the main page or click here to get to the discussion thread. The Magic aren't exactly sure whether they'll face Philadelphia, Toronto, or Washington in the first round of the playoffs, so they're having to prepare for every possible matchup, writes Tim Povtak: Not only are they [the coaching staff] still watching film on each of the upcoming regular-season opponents, they will spend the weekend watching video of Washington, Toronto and Philadelphia games, looking to ...
Who's Your MVP?
Published 3/31/2008 by TexSUN <info@brightsideofthesun.com> at Bright Side Of The Sun: Front Page Posts
... Most in the national media (and the blogosphere) still seem to be tabbing Nash as the token MVP representative for the Suns, even though Amare is #3 on the aforementioned PER list, and looks to be gradually becoming the undisputed focal point of the offense. I'm going to dodge that issue for now, and just mention them both at the same time. It's unlikely that either will finish in the top five, and that's fine by me. The Suns have bigger fish to fry these days. ...
Bloggers Pick MVP and ROY - Round 10
Published 4/7/2008 at Queen City Hoops
It does not happen often...but this post will have nothing to do with the Bobcats (unfortunately, Jared Dudley did not manage to get a single vote for Rookie of the year). Today, Queen City Hoops is hosting the rotating "Blogger MVP/ROY Ranking - Round 10". For those unfamiliar, here are the ground rules: Bloggers submit their top 10 MVP candidates, and top 5 ROY candidates. Points are then awarded on a sliding scale - 1st place vote = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points,..., 10th place = 1 point for MVP balloting, and for the rooks, 1st place = 5 points and so on. 20 blogs took part in this round (including this one) - ...

End-of-season Basket-Blogger Rankings Monday, April 21, 2008 The regular season's over, which means the NBA blogger voting has come to a close (for now; you never know if a Playoff MVP needs to be crowned). We Rite Goode managed this final, 11th iteration of the polling, which was last hosted by Queen City Hoops two weeks ago ; for those new to the process, votes are compiled from roughly 20-40 blogs each round. To reveal today: Basket-bloggers' final Rookie of the Year , as well as our collective Coach of the Year and Most Improved Player picks. (Inspired by the NBA's own staggered reveal--not to mention Neal ...
Rankings: The 7th Man of the year (oh, and MVP, too)
Published 4/23/2008 by Crucifictorious at We Rite Goode
Rankings: The 7th Man of the year (oh, and MVP, too) Tuesday, April 22, 2008 Let's face it: Part I of the final basket-blogger awards played to script, with Durant (ROY), Scott (COY), and Hedo (MIP). However, today's rankings of 7th Man and MVP promise to be more surprising and--dare we say--interesting. Still, prepare yourself for lots of charts and numbers; bloggers provided six months of data, after all. How could we not analyze it? 7th Man of the Year We elected to skip 6th Man--not just because Manu Ginobili was near-unanimous, but since typical candidates are de facto starters--and instead wanted to ...
