I'd say last week was pretty good for DeShawn. He found his touch, got Indy Cornrows' Line of the Night, received Intentional Foul's Weekly Pwnage award, and felt like Hibachi. Speaking of Hibachi, he's back on the blogging circuit. Hopefully Kevin Duckworth's appearance in the Mitchell Report doesn't tarnish his legacy or whatever . Somewhere Isiah Thomas is going "See? Jared Jeffries is better than LaMarcus Aldridge!" Caron Butler is holding down 10th in the latest Blogger MVP rankings because he's such a textbook player. ...

Dwight Howard is bloggers' current choice as MVP. Kevin Durant is the rookie of the year according to the same poll. Although he has been playing a little lately, Raef LaFrentz is one of many high-priced players not getting much burn. His Portland team is on a great winning streak, but Brian Hendrickson of the Columbian writes that it's not easy to be the high-priced veteran who almost never plays: "'It's not fun,' LaFrentz said. 'I'm not going to say it's a walk in the park and this is what I want to be doing as far as getting time during a game. But Nate has his rotation set and I'm not gonna be a disruptive force ...

Interesting how the final rankings differ a lot from my votes: MVP 10- Howard 9- Tony Parker 8- Nash 7- Boozer 6- Garnett 5- Lebron James 4- Chris Paul 3- Pierce 2- Deron Williams 1- Baron Davis ROY 5- Durant 4- Navarro 3- Horford 2- Yi 1- Jeff Green I am considering overall efficiency, individual stats and team accomplishments (that’s why James is not #1, for instance, or why Cook doesn’t crack the rookie top 5) and the impact on the player on his team. Stat wise Nash could be #1 (he’s having ...

I am participating in a season-long bi-weekly poll in which various bloggers offer their takes on the Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year races. The results of the first poll were published on December 3. The results of the second poll were just posted at Clips Nation. The top four players who I chose for MVP finished in the top four on the overall ballot, albeit in a different order. Seven of my 10 selections ranked in the consensus top ten; I left off Carlos Boozer, Manu Ginobili and Caron Butler in favor of Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming and Dirk Nowitzki. Four ...

BrewHoop hosted Round 1, Clips Nation hosted Round 2, and 3 Shades of Blue hosted Round 3. Dwight Howard came in third place in MVP voting in this edition. Shockingly, Marcin Gortat was nowhere to be found in ROY voting. Look after the jump to see the ballot and comments I sent to Sixers4Guidos for them to compile.
