BlogPoller Disorder: Forget Everything You Think You Know
Published 10/16/2007 by CornFromAJar <info@rockytoptalk.com> at Rocky Top Talk
... We start with USF, which looks really odd at the top of any poll. But, if you took the Bull logo off the gold helmets and called them Notre Dame, they'd be No. 1 easily. Brian makes an excellent case for LSU to remain at the top, and I'm willing to listen to y'all if you agree. But I don't think USF can be any lower than second with wins, ugly as they were, over Auburn and West Virginia. ...

Kent State Postgame Thoughts and BlogPoll Ballot Week 7

I am the very definition of “cautiously optimistic” this week. On the one hand, it is wonderful to see the Jayhawks bowl-eligible this early in a season. On the other hand, walloping Baylor is not exactly a litmus test for greatness.

The Riley factor: the fair and balanced version.

For approximately 40 minutes or so, Cal was the number one football team in the country. During this time, the nervous crowd never really let out a proper roar to announce the arrival of this unlikely truth, largely because the PA announcer never reported the LSU-Kentucky score to the assembled faithful. We were left furtively passing along reports of the multiple overtimes by word of mouth ...
