In a somewhat surprising move, Julian Tavarez was designated for assignment today to make room for Sean Casey. Herald Link The general assumption was that Craig Hansen would be the casualty of Casey’s return, but it looks like the Sox actually have some confidence in Hansen’s refined mechanics.
