The DCenters: I think I warned about DC United dropping points in this match, and certainly United seemed to play around with the idea. RSL was easily the better team through 40 minutes, and United was on their heels. Even in the second half, RSL was still threatening around the box at times. This game, even as late as the 70th minute, could have gone in any direction.

The Washington Post: Coming off of a win in which the creativity and energy of its offense had shined through, D.C. United's attack seemed somewhat stifled in the first half last night against Real Salt Lake. Without forward Jaime Moreno, who was on international duty with Bolivia, and midfielder Fred, who was being rested on the bench, D.C. just wasn't the same.
