Citing the "passion" of baseball fans who voted online, fashion designer Marc Ecko revealed Wednesday morning that a big asterisk will be branded onto the ball Barry Bonds hit for his record 756th homer and that it will be presented that way to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. [link]

... . Ecko claimed there were over 10 million votes and 47% chose the branding option. In the linked MLB.com story, the Hall of Fame said they would be happy to accept the ball in whatever condition it arrived.

The votes are in. Barry Bonds' 756 home run ball will go to the Baseball Hall of Fame with an asterisk. What a joke. According to Vote756.com, over 10 million votes were tallied with 47 percent of fans choosing to brand the ball with an asterisk and send it to Cooperstown. Thirty-four percent of voters said to bestow it and 19 percent said the ball should be banished.
