ABCNews and the Associated Press are reporting that Barry Bonds will not play independent baseball this summer, according to agent Jeff Borris. There had been some speculation that Bonds would follow the lead of Jay Gibbons and play for an independent team to prove he is in shape and ready to contribute at the major league level. [link]
