The three top pitchers from the Yankees organization have officially cursed themselves. According to Phil Hughes, on his person website, they have settled on the nickname "The Three Amigos." That's where it begins guys, then "Generation K" happens, and we all know how that story ends. Good luck in your now cursed season!

On his blog, Phil Hughes says that he and Joba and Ian decided on The Three Amigos as their nickname. I don't know about you, but, personally, I think anything is better than Generation Tre. Three Amigos is classic and doesn't sound awkward in the English language.

If we had to take a stab at trying to explain the HR/9 jump from the minors to the majors, we'd simply guess it's a combination of Hughes overmatching minor league hitters, and his needing to adjust to the talent level of major league hitters. We think (okay, hope?) his numbers this season will lend more credence to the minor league stats. Either way, it's certainly going to be fun watching Hughes pitch for the big club over the course of an entire season.
