Boston Red Sox - Famous guest blogs in - The Boston Globe Links8
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Getting a little tired and bored here in the final week of the Grapefruit League circuit so I thought I'd take the day off and let Curt Schilling do the work. Schill started writing his own blog a few weeks ago, so today he fills the space with his latest Q & A session with fellow bloggers. (Note: This is an abridged text. Because of space limitations, we are unable to ... [link]

Give It All Up And Start All Over. You Say You Will But You Don't Know When.

... Finally read The Shaughn's bit on Curt's blog from today's Globe. Kinda funny and kinda lame all at once. But you probably expected that. Here's a sample. Hold on to those sides, kids!Lapdog38: Hey Curt. This blog is awesome. I mean, I can't believe it's really you. I'm nervous just typing, knowing you are there on the other end. Let me tell you a little about myself. I am 38 years old (pretty cool, huh, 38?) and I have your jersey in XXL (both home and away versions). I'm living at home, in the basement, rent free, and I've got cable and plasma TV. Domino's delivers. I guess you could say I'm living the dream. Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell us who's going to be on the final 25-man roster for the Sox this year?

Green With Envy

... In yesterday's Globe, Shaughnessy decided to take a few swings at his well-publicized and now well-published rival, Curt Schilling, for the latter's foray into the world of personal blogging. Schilling's website,

T-3 and counting…
Published 3/30/2007 by Seth Mnookin at The Feeding the Monster Blog -- In which the author discusses Boston, the Red Sox, the media, and very occasionally popular music.
... Actually, I guess you don’t need to admire it: Shaughnessy, in one of the meaner-spirited columns I’ve read in a while, painted the whole thing as one more way for Schilling to get his ass kissed. What’s surprising here isn’t that Shaughnessy is being a dick — he’s done that before — but that he missed the mark so completely. (This will surprise some people, but I actually think Shaughnessy is a very good columnist in that he’s great at hitting a nerve and is generally pretty fearless about public’s (and his subject’s) reactions. I often don’t agree with where he’s coming from, and I abhor some of what he’s done in the past…but that’s another story.+) As

Is Dan Shaughnessy The Most Hated Man in the City of Boston?

... throughout the city, viewed with the sort of contempt usually reserved for pederasts, drug smugglers and members of the band "Foreigner." Not that the guy hasn't given us plenty of reasons to hate him. He's long embodied the "sports journalist as scorned nerd" stereotype, taking venomous swipes at the likes of Roger Clemens, Jose Offerman (whom Shaughnessy once referred to as "a piece of garbage") and Manny Ramirez. He also seems to represent everything that's bad about old school media, most famously illustrated in a column last March in which The Shaughn offered up a ...
