... Red Sox made some more moves as far as their roster goes. They picked up the options on the contracts of Tim Wakefield and Julian Tavarez. They also picked up Sean Danielson from the St. Louis Cardinals as the PTBNL in the Joel Piñero deal. John Farrell also made it official that he wasn’t in the running anymore for the Pirates job. Speaking of championship caliber, the Boston Red Sox resigned the veteran knuckle baller Tim Wakefield along with Julian Tavarez yesterday which just gives the Red Sox that much added depth to their pitching staff. Also, the man who puts it all together, Red Sox pitching coach John Farrall, declined an offer by the Pittsburgh Pirates and is coming back with the Sox next year. All of this is great news for the Sox and further assures that our core nucleus of pitching will be coming back next year. ...
