... . The Red Sox were under the impression that their trip to Japan meant a $40,000 stipend for players and coaches . It seems like the team or somebody in MLB pulled a switcheroo, which is really horrible when you think that $40K is about one-third of many coaches' salaries. Thankfully, the situation has been rectified.
