The secret to Justin Masterson's success

Justin Masterson earned his first major league victory last night... but it didn't come easy. Much like his last ML start against the Angels, Masterson left the game with the small lead, and hoped a major league caliber bullpen would secure the victory... back in April Lopez, Delcarmen and Okajima gave up 4 runs in the 7th and erased Mastertson from the decision. Josh Beckett enjoys irony - VIDEO

Like most of Red Sox Nation, I don't think Beckett expected to get the win, but the flood gates opened after his departure and the Sox scored 14 runs from the 5th through the 8th, resulting an 18-5 shellacking of the Twins. Josh explains how irony can fun: Video: NESN.com ...
