Despite the loss, the Birds hung in there with the Evil Empire 1A until the bitter end, as our pitching corps inly allowed two runs in the first and then three — all unearned — in the 13th thanks for errors by Melvin Mora and Freddie Bynum. They were frustrating to see; however, errors are a part a game — but you cannot have that happen against a team the caliber of the Red Sox. ...

The Red Sox will be without the services of their skipper Terry Francona tomorrow as he will be heading back to Boston to attend his daughter Leah’s high school graduation in Brookline, MA.
