When these teams met in the playoffs in the 1980s it was the "Big Three" versus the "Bad Boys." Neither nickname works now--Ray Allen has hardly been "big" in the playoffs and the only "bad" thing about Detroit in recent postseasons has been the Pistons' losses to lower seeded teams in the Eastern Conference Finals.
