Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, who will oppose Kansas City right-hander Zack Greinke tomorrow in his official debut, threw 45 pitches off the main mound (not to hitters) to get accustomed to the backdrop. Matsuzaka’s start will be carried live in Japan on TV and radio. The game begins at 5 a.m. in Japan. Matsuzaka’s name is so hot that it’s about to be found in local freezers. Word has leaked out that Brigham’s Ice Cream is about to announce that it is changing its Sox-based flavor, “Reverse The Curse,” to “Dice-Kream.” Seriously.
