Yankees and Red Sox have infinity dollars to buy free agents and sign all of their own free agents- have less need to trade lots of prospects for MLB players. Or at least it should be. With the season less than three weeks away, Joe Crede is unexpectedly still in a Sox uniform. Or at least it should be. With the season less than three weeks away, Joe Crede is unexpectedly still in a Sox uniform. While this isn’t a bad thing- it’s impossible to find a Sox fan who doesn’t list Crede among their favorite players on the team- it means Josh Fields is likely off to AAA. Fields established himself as one of the best young power hitters in baseball last season, but it’s hard to see his value to the big league club if the Sox are committed to Crede. They might as well let Fields continue to work on his game in the minors. ...
