 Brace Yourselves: More 'Bama Links3
Two further news items in the ongoing coverage of Alabama's oversigning escapades: Destin Hood was a second round pick of the Nationals and has signed an MLB contract. This doesn't affect Alabama's numbers. They were already at the 25-player maximum (actually 27 with two early enrollees) without Hood, who was always expected to play baseball. Questions I Would Ask the Coaches at S.E.C. Media Days
Published 7/23/2008 by T Kyle King at Dawg Sports
You know it, I know it, and the American people know it: S.E.C. Media Days begin today. Because C&F; will be attending the event, look for his liveblog of Media Days at Garnet and Black Attack. Mark Richt is on the interview schedule for tomorrow morning. Today’s slate features Florida’s Urban Meyer, Mississippi State’s Sylvester Croom, Louisiana State’s Les Miles, and Vanderbilt’s Bobby Johnson. Unlike C&F;, I won’t be present for S.E.C. Media Days, but, if I were, here are the questions I would put to each of the conference’s head coaches: Rich ...

Live-blogging Tommy Tuberville
Published 7/25/2008 by cocknfire at Garnet And Black Attack
10:54 a.m. Tuberville felt better until he saw that the media voted the Tigers first in the SEC West. "Y'all are never right, so it puts me in a bind." 10:55 a.m. Kodi Burns is not a lock for the starting QB job. The decision will be made within 10-12 days of the beginning of practice. "We will have a true starter." 10:59 a.m. "This year we have 20 commitments." Watch it, Tommy; you'll get on Brian's bad side if you recruit too many more. 11:02 a.m. Auburn's spread is different than anyone else's spread. So there! 11:03 a.m. The room seems even colder today. C&F is ...

Published 7/30/2008 by SMQ at Sunday Morning Quarterback
Fans who recall Miami's surprisingly well-regarded recruiting class in February -- surprising because many of the most sought-after athletes in the country apparently looked hard at a program that's 12-14 over the last two years, with a relatively small, notoriously fickle fan base, no on-campus stadium, and fatal shooting deaths of both an active player and a recent alumnus in the span of a year, along with at least one other non-fatal shooting incident since 2006, and thought, "Where do I sign up?" -- might be interested in a small story in today's Palm Beach Post detailing the likely attrition from ...

A great story that I just couldn’t pass up. Of course, we all remember the 34-32 upset of Appalachian State over the Michigan Wolverines (in Michigan, mind you) just last season.
