Haha... ya, this kid don't know what he's missin'.

But hell, he's gonna be rollin' in cash before he sets foot in the NBA.  Can't say I blame him for going overseas.

This is only the first of many... at least those brave enough to go to another country and play.

... Brandon Jennings will play in Europe next season. For purely selfish reasons, I hope it drops his draft stock into the #12-15 range. So that the Blazers can deal to acquire the pick right in front of Sacramento and steal him. (I'm not bitter.) ...

... Jonathan Givony (of Draft Express fame) finds it hard to believe that Jennings would get more than $100,000 from a European club, but doesn’t throw it out as a possibility. My estimates indicate that’s roughly half of what he would’ve received playing at a premier university. Givony also reminds us that a club could sign him to a lengthier deal with an NBA escape clause, hoping to cash in $500,000 from the team that drafts him. (via TrueHoop) ...

Brandon Jennings bigger than Brandon Jennings

And the American Dream strikes back. Brandon Jennings is no longer just playing with the idea of skipping a year of college basketball and playing a season in Europe, he wants to make it happen. He is the first to take this alternate approach to the NBA's age limit, but hopefully not the last. ...

... is a bad gamble. Teams in Europe are looking to develop their guys long-term, not serve as a rest stop for players on the way to the NBA. And if goes to Europe and has a bad season in a place where the leagues are almost all vastly different from the style of play in the NCAA and NBA (the style Jennings has been studying for most of his life), he’ll only hurt his NBA stock. if he’s going for the cash, Henry Abbott and Jonathan Givony note that he’s not likely to cash in. He might get a shoe deal that will keep him flush for life, but even shoe ...

Jennings To Test The Overseas Waters
Published 7/9/2008 by Robbie Gillies at RealClearSports - Blog
Last night, Brandon Jennings' attorney told ESPN that Jennings will be heading to Europe to play professional basketball. Jennings, a McDonald's All-American had signed with Arizona, but he had not qualified to attend the university because of low standardized test scores. Jennings is set to receive his latest round of test scores this week, but no matter the results, Jennings is committed to go to Europe. The bold move by Jennings brings about many interesting and unique questions. Who will sign Jennings and for how much? Will a European team be willing ...

Apparently, he's dominating, 7ppg dominating, and signed a big deal to play for Russia... or so says Jonathan Givony, and European basketball consultant and architect behind DraftExpress.com. ...

There’s not much bad that can come out of Brandon Jennings forgoing college for professional opportunity. If he were a college graduate making this same move in another industry, we would laud him as a savvy businessman and one to watch out for. We can’t look at him as a fool, an opportunist, or misguided.
