I watched some portions of last night's Giants-Diamondbacks game despite the fact that there were no mullets to be seen. At least there was one hell of an interesting pitching matchup. Otherwise watching the Giants is absolutely brutal. What we had last night was Diamondbacks ace Brandon Webb against Giants "ace" Barry Zito. ... Zito (0-5, 5.61 ERA) and his San Francisco Giants. Webb, who had trouble commanding the plate last night, hit a two-run double to give himself some run support and improve to 5-0 with a 2.31 ERA. The 28-year-old righty allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, walking two and striking out seven over six innings. Webb is no silver-slugging Micah Owings, but he raised his career batting average to .108.
