Blaine Boyer was designated for assignment to make room for starting pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes this morning.
The right-hander leaves the club after posting an eye-soring 40.50 ERA in just one and a third innings of work. In 25 appearances since July 26, 2008, Boyer had a 14.73 ERA and .358 opponents’ average.
Boyer’s out of minor league options, so he can either be claimed off waviers or outrighted to AAA Gwinnett.
