Published 7/3/2008 by Brian Joseph at Baseball Digest Daily
According to an MLB.com report, Atlanta Braves management has considered the possibility of sending struggling outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the Minors to help him get back on track. The struggling Atlanta native finished up Wednesday night 0-for-4 with three strikeouts which dropped his season average to .236 with eight homers and 41 RBI in 84 games.
Mark Bowman of MLB.com acknowledged an unnamed team official "confirmed there has been discussion about sending Francoeur to the Minors to rediscover his lost swing." Bowman also stated in the report that while the idea was discussed, there was no indication the move would happen ...
The Braves Are Debating Sending Frenchy to the Minors
Published 7/3/2008 by Will Brinson at FanHouse
Filed under: Atlanta, Braves, MLB Fans, MLB Rumors, MLB Transactions, Fantasy MLBIt seems like Jeff Francoeur has been in the majors longer than three years. And it also seems like he was supposed to find his swing and really break out this year. While the first one is still technically true, there's no guarantee for how long, as apparently the Braves confirmed Wednesday that they have debated sending Frenchy to the minors to work on his swing. One primary reason that the Braves haven't shipped Francoeur back to the Minors is the potential backlash they might receive from their fans, who have remained faithful to No. 7, despite the ...
Brave New World

The Braves are going nowhere and they know it. Acceptance of such things can often bring welcome clarity, and Atlanta seems to be no exception as they are considering two moves -- the demotion of Jeff Francoeur and the shopping of Mark Teixeira -- which will help move the team in the right direction over the long term. ...

Time to round up some linkage.
This week's live chat will be held at 3pm CST today.
The Rockies will honor Yorvit Torrealba's request by listening to trade offers for him. His stock is low, and the Marlins aren't interested despite their plan to add a catcher.
Mark Teixeira would prefer not to be traded this ...
Morning Roundup for 7/2 (Francoeur, Oswalt, Francis and more)

According to Mark Bowman of mlb.com (click here for the article), the Braves have had discussions about sending Jeff Francoeur to the minors, though he cites Francoeur’s popularity as a reason it may not happen. I was shocked when the Phillies did it with Brett Myers, but I’d be even more shocked if the Braves made this move. Granted, Francoeur has struggled this season, hitting .236 with 8 HR, 41 RBI and 40 R, but it’s not like he has been bad all season. He had a decent April (.277, 2 HR, 18 RBI) before struggling through much of the next two months. Plus, who would they replace him with? I don’t see this happening, but it is definitely worth noting if you own him in any league. According to ...
Frenchy back to the Minors?
Published 7/3/2008 by TD at Rain Delay
There seems to be some discussion within the Braves organization that it might be a good idea to send Jeff Francoeur down to the Minor’s to work on his swing. He’s been having a horrible year at the plate, and is in a funk that has lasted for all of the first half of the year. Though I do find it interesting that all this talk, comes up after Phillies Starter/Closer Brett Myers accepted a assignment to Triple A. This is also the same year that the Detroit Tigers after signing him to a huge deal sent Dontrell Willis to Single A to work on his delivery.
Here’s what his best friend, Brian McCann had to say about Frenchy.
“This is really the first time ...
