Francoeur optioned to AA Mississippi

Well it looks as though the Braves Front Office couldn’t take it any more, and re-assigned Frenchy to Double A Mississippi to work on his swing, and get his head on straight. This demotion comes almost two years to the day that he and best friend Brian McCann were recalled from Double A.
With the optioning of Frenchy, the Braves have recalled OF Jason Perry. Perry started the year at Double A and recently got promoted to Triple A Richmond where was batting over .300, including 18 dingers in 100+ at-bats. As much as it sucks to see this happen to Jeff, it’s for the better. Hopefully he can go down there, work on his swing and find himself back in Atlanta before seasons end. ...
Francoeur Sent to AA
MLB FLEECE FACTOR: Providing MLB rumors and deciding who gets FLEECED. —
In a surprise move, the Atlanta Braves sent outfielder Jeff Francoeur to the minors to try and get himself back to theplayer the organization had seen over the last few seasons. Francoeur has had a terrible season thus far, hitting .234 with only 8 homers in the first three months. This, of course, after driving in over 100 RBI in each of the last two seasons. Braves’ GM Frank Wren said this was one of the toughest decisions he’s ever had to make.
Not a bad move here. Maybe a little less stress and some tinkering with his swing for a while will get Francoeur back into form. The Braves really need his bat in the second half if they’re to get back into the N.L. ...
