Braves 8, Marlins 0 Well, when it rains it pours, I guess. We held the Marlins to 3 hits and struck ‘em out 16 times (Smoltz got 10 strikeouts in 5 shoulder-wincing innings, and is now 6 from 3000). Meanwhile, Chipper Jones went 4-4 by himself, doubling and launching two homers and raising his average to .443 — which leads baseball by, like, a lot. Chipper, Tex, and McCann homered back-to-back-to-back in the 5th inning, which looked cool and sort of sent a signal that it was going to be one of those nights for the offense. ...
