Tayshaun Prince scores four points in Team USA's pasting of Canada
Published 7/26/2008 by Dave Dial at Detroit Pistons Full-Court Press - MLive.com
Team USA almost doubled-up the score against the Canadian Olympic team, as the Americans emphasized team defense and shot 65.7% from the field . July 26, ESPN: LAS VEGAS -- Mike Krzyzewski wanted Dwyane Wade on the U.S. team, just in case something ever happened to Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. With James out Friday night, Wade proved he is definitely back. Wade stepped into the starting lineup and scored 20 points in his first action in more than four months, and the United States beat Canada 120-65 in the opener of its exhibition schedule. While the team has ...

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A? Team Nike USA didn't come for a Canadian Debate. They came to squash their over matched opponent, and they did. What does that mean? Not a whole lot, Canada didn't make the Olympics after all. The two best Canadian players (Nash and Dalembert), aren't even on the national team. It is safe to say the real tests for Team USA are still to come. In such a lopsided match up I'm not sure you can glean much analysis of how good this Team USA is right now. Because of sheer talent, they are favored to win Olympic Gold. I'm fine with that, but there are some concerns. Back when it became clear that we ...
Team USA Primer VII: In the Wake of USA-Canada

Photo from Andrew D. Bernstein/NBAE via Getty Images. You've heard what I had to say about last night's affair, so it's time to turn to the rest of the interwebs. Sheridan hits you in the face with some interesting numbers. Some of them should at least worry you, mildly; good against Canada's one thing, but good against Argentina? That's something else. From ESPN: "The positives that jumped out from the American side of the box score were their 43 points off turnovers, their 66 percent shooting (including 50 percent from 3-point range) their 38-24 edge in rebounding, and their holding the Canadians to just 27 second-half points, ...
