Chris J. +1Awesome stuff. Glad you finally got some video of Prior. Any chance you'd be able to take a look at Zambrano? -
Dick Mills I like the emphasis on speeding up a pitcher's tempo. Too many major league pitchers do know how to build forward momentum into a long stride.
Mark Prior could make some positive changes to his mechanics which could reduce his risk of injury. What we do not know is what does he do with his practice time. I understand that he has used the "towel drill" extensively.

... knows, injuries to his elbow and shoulder have kept him away from the game, logging in more than 200 innings only one time, in 2003. If he had kept the pace with the WHIP and K/9 numbers, that would have placed him in the top 15 and top 5, respectively, among active pitchers. He attacks hitters with a mid-90s fastball, curve, slurve and a change-up. He has average mechanics and keeps the ball down in the zone. Pitching Mechanics: Mark Prior
Published 4/4/2008 by Kyle at Driveline Mechanics
... I’m sure everyone knows the Mark Prior history, so I won’t go into it. Carlos Gomez at Hardball Times has done a piece on Prior’s mechanics, and I disagree with how he analyzes pitchers. To be fair, he follows the mechanics of Paul Nyman (SETPRO) and I am more of a Bill Peterson/Chris O’Leary/Mike Marshall and Tom House analyst. ...
