Josh Beckett will not start for Boston tomorrow. He is instead being sent to see Dr. James Andrews. Beckett has been out because of an elbow problem that has apparently not improved. Bad news for the Red Sox means good news for the Yankees. [link]

... The Titan of Tommy John, The Earl of Elbows, The Sultan of Surgery, The Duke of Diagnosis, Dr. James Andrews will examine Boston 'ace' Josh Beckett tomorrow. If he does end up having TJ surgery, it will 1) mean that Beckett would likely miss the entire 2009 season, and 2) would increase the competition for free agent starters. Or it could just be tendinitis like he diagnosed for Joba. ...
